JULY 2007

Saturday 14th - Forests day, Museum of Zoology, Cambridge

A day celebrating the world's forests, from Cambridgeshire's woodland to tropical rainforests with lots of fun for the whole family. We will have a stand at this event, so come along, join in the fun and find out lots of about the world's forests.

 

Saturday 28th- Wildlife recording day, Central Park, Peterborough. 10am - 3pm

Come and help us record central park's wildlife! From mini-beast hunting to bird watching and tree surveys, we will be spending the day with other wildlife organisations finding out what lives in Central Park and we need your help!

 

AUGUST 2007

Wednesday 8th – Mini-beast magic, Hinchingbrooke Country Park

Times and further details to be confirmed.

Suitable for all the family. Come along and help us survey the insects at

Hinchingbrooke.  Try out different techniques for finding insects, from creepy crawlies

to flying bugs! 

 

Saturday 25th - Monday 27th, Hemingford meadows, St. Ives

The Inland Waterways Association's annual festival is being held in Cambridgeshire

this year. There will be lots of fun for the whole family, and we will be there with the

Wildlife Trust too!

OCTOBER 2007  

Looking for something to do over the half term? Come and join the Records Centre for an Autumn adventure!

 

Tuesday 23rd October – Oaks Wood, Cambourne, 10am-12pm

There will be lots of fun autumn activities, including the chance to make your own autumn colours colour chart, use your detective skills to see how many different signs of autumn you can spot, plus a unique opportunity to come and meet a tree!

We will meet in Oaks Wood car park at 10am. Please bring a scarf if you have one!

Suitable for children under 14.

 

Wednesday 24th October –Autumn Walk (start at Peterborough museum), 10am-12.30

Join the Records Centre and the Wildlife Trust for this autumn walk from the museum to a local nature reserve. Along the way use your detective skills to see how many signs of autumn you can spot! At the nature reserve there will be lots of fun wildlife activities, including pond dipping.  

 

Thursday 25th October – Bramblefields LNR (End of Laxton Way) Cambridge, 2-4pm

Join the Records Centre and Cambridge City Council to discover the wildlife of Bramblefields LNR with a variety of activities. These will include a fruits of autumn trail, pond dipping and an opportunity to use your detective skills to see how many signs of mammals you can find. Suitable for children aged 7 -14.

  

Friday  26th October- Wildlife walk and draw, (start at Peterborough museum)

10am-12.30

Join the Records Centre and the Wildlife Trust for this autumn walk from the museum to a local nature reserve. Along the way use your detective skills to see how many signs of autumn you can spot! At the nature reserve there will be lots of fun wildlife activities, including a chance to make your own autumn colours colour chart.

After the walk there will be some wildlife art activities in the museum.
